Insulated Milano Jacket Review

Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket Review

By James Bantum
The Women's Columbia Titanium Insulated Milano Jacket is a jacket with most of the features of any technical ski jacket, but there are a few aspects of the jacket that may turn off some potential buyers. First, the good: The jacket is extremely warm without being bulky or limiting freedom of movement. The elastic bands on the sleeves do a great job of increasing mobility, making this jacket even easier to move around in than some other, more expensive ones.

All About White Water Rafting

By Paul Makepeace

Expert Author Paul Makepeace

White water rafting is a very aggressive sport that is played using an inflatable boat. The raft or boat is used to navigate a water body such as a river or any other. This sport falls in the group of sports referred to as extreme sports because there is a lot of danger involved while navigating the water. The sport is done on white water or in rough bodies of flowing water because this way there is a lot of thrill and excitement both for those watching and those in the raft. It is a fun outdoor sport but should only be done by those who know how to navigate the boats safely.

Kayaking: The Basics for Beginners

By Anne Clarke

You need to understand the basic rules of kayaking in order to fully enjoy your kayaking adventure, and make sure you also have the tools necessary to learn kayaking the easy way as you get started.

The basic instructions for kayaking are similar to those for most water sports such as canoeing, white water rafting etc. It is recommended that you take a basic class that teaches about kayaking and the basics you need to know before you go out on a kayak. It is also a good idea to always go out kayaking with a friend or two.

7 Ways Why Hiking is Better Than Going to the Gym

By Steve H.

Expert Author Steve H.

Gyms definitely have their place. Let's face it, without health & fitness clubs, many people would never work out. There are certain people, and you may be one of this group, who simply need a gym-like environment full of people, machines & weights to motivate them to workout. A gym atmosphere does much to push some people into getting into shape. Whether it's the sight of people in better condition than we are, or maybe just the opposite, those who are worse off & make us feel better about ourselves; whatever the reason, health clubs do a great deal to help thousands & perhaps millions of people to exercise and achieve a better fitness level.

When it comes to climbing, we all have our mental issues and shortcomings. Whether it’s breaking a bad habit like high stepping every foothold, not taking enough time to rest or breathe, or not focusing enough on your footwork, we’ve all been there one time or another and we’ve all fallen, flailed, and kicked the wall as a result.

INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING — Climbing indoors is just what it sounds like—you simply are climbing indoors instead of climbing outdoors. Simple-sounding, but the term indoor climbing covers from closet and basement “woodies” to enormous and elaborate climbing walls in gyms.

INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING 2 Indoor rock climbing centre. (www.cliffhanger.com.au)

You can build your own woodie with some plywood and screws, turning a room in your house or a wall in the attic or basement into your own training area. All indoor climbing is basically the same because you are climbing on manufactured holds bolted to plywood.

Ski Clothes - Breathability

While it is essential to keep the elements out when skiing or snowboarding. It is equally important for moisture from perspiration to escape continuously. That is what the term breathability means when it is referred to in relation to Ski Clothes. Snow sports are high energy sports and if your clothing doesn't allow perspiration to escape your base layer of clothing can become damp quickly. You often will not notice this while you are actually skiing or boarding. It is when you stop or are riding ski lifts that you will get cold due to having damp clothes. Breathability is measured the same as waterproofing, in mm; where entry level items of ski and snowboard clothing will have a rating of 3,000mm to 5,000mm whilst the top of the range will have around 20,000mm.
